Welcome to our new web page. Seven weeks ago, inspired by Joshua Kors’ article Disposable Soldiers in The Nation, the Facebook group Stop Personality Disorder Discharges for our Wounded Soldiers was started. Today, with over 4,600 members, we are reaching out beyond Facebook to spread the news about this national disgrace. Since the start of the war in Iraq, over 22,600 members of our military with actual physical injuries have been discharged using the diagnosis of pre-existing personality disorders. We are committed to holding our government accountable and stopping this deplorable practice. We look forward to expanding and ask for your input. Please remember this is truly a non-partisan issue, so please keep your comments free of partisan politics. Thanks for joining us in this important cause.
The military is denying benefits to physically wounded soldiers, claiming their wounds were caused by a “Personality Disorder.” Being discharged with this pre-existing condition means no disability benefits and no long-term medical care. Regardless of how you feel about these wars, it is shameful how we turn our backs on our wounded soldiers. Write your representatives in Congress and let them know this deplorable behavior is disgraceful and must be stopped.
